Your goal is to traverse the Dark Forest and defeat a Guardian at either the Ice Gate or the Fire Gate to gain access to the Forest or the FLAME Forest. Along the way you Will encounter enemies that increase your Sparkle, Shimmer, or Aura essence—crucial for entering powerful Stances each with unique effects. Magic Fountains and Quests will aid you on your journey but you must prove your worth by fighting in at least two Arenas with powerful enemies to unlock the Gates.

Earn Courage Coins by winning combats, which can be used as currency at the market to buy consumable candies, permanent treasures, and random cards from the four card types. If you have any special Weapon cards, you can trade them in for upgrades. Combat revolves around your Speed, which determines how many cards you can draw per turn, and Mana, which is used to play your cards. Some cards can be combined without costing Mana.

Your Crit percentage increases by 1 for each attack card played, raising the chance for a critical hit (damage * 1.5), but resets to 0 after a Crit. Aggro is an important mechanic: it increases by 1 after each combat, with higher levels making monster blocks in the FROST Forest and monster attacks in the FLAME Forest more dangerous. To mitigate damage, you can build Block, which completely absorbs incoming damage, and Armor, which absorbs 50% of it.

Combine both for maximum defense. You can also charge up your Magic Rainbow during combat. Once fully charged, it activates and deals damage to enemies, with the type of magic summoned dictating the damage application. Mixing magic types results in Muddled magic which has varied effects depending on the combination. After each battle, you may be rewarded with Treasures, Essences, Shards, and Candy, with increasing chances as you progress.
